Brian

Brian began learning to blow glass in 1995 while travelling cross country. He watched a novice glass artist set up a hot shop on an abandoned honey farm in rural Arkansas, and instantly fell in love with molten glass. He stuck around long enough to gain the knowledge needed to start up his own glass studio in upstate NY. In 1998, Brian opened up his first glass gallery and store in Middletown NY, and then relocated to Sugar Loaf, NY in 2003. In 2010 Brian moved his studio and family to Vermont, and has been blowing glass in the Champlain Valley ever since.

Brooke

I had been apprenticing for artists in and around the Hudson Valley area of NY since childhood, and explored many mediums including wood, ceramics, and fiber arts before being introduced to glass. In 2000, I began an apprenticeship with a glassblower that would soon grow to become my partner, and my husband.

Us

We finally made the move to Vermont to raise our family in 2010. Now our glass studio sits at the foothills of the majestic Green Mountains in beautiful Middlebury, Vermont.

We followed our dreams because one day we asked ourselves, what could possibly be more challenging than making a living as an artist? Well, turns out that would be both of us trying to make our livings as artists. Then, for an extra challenge, we added 3 kids to the equation, plus a handful of rescued animals, a humble homestead, a splash of stubbornness, and just a dash of denial. That’s our guaranteed recipe for success. If you measure your success in family meals, dog kisses, and compost. We do.
