Recently a customer contacted me about ordering a few of our Moon Blood droplet pendants for the holidays. She then shared with me the following letter that she wrote to accompany these special gifts. I was so touched by her words and her wisdom, that I felt compelled to share them with you…
“To the Women in My Life… A Christmas Gift Honoring the Sacred Within
This glass droplet pendant is a symbol of sacrifice. There are many possibilities of how you may decide to bring into your own consciousness the meaning of the gift. It is meant for each of you to decide what suits you.
At Christmastime one could remember the sacrifice of Christ for all of us, His coming into the world to offer Himself in the ultimate way, showing His love for all.
Yet, how did He come? He came through his Mother, a Jewish Woman, whose sacrifice was also great. The strength of Mary is the strength that we all carry. Her willingness, her letting go, her desire to seek the truth through difficulty…all of this is the Woman’s way.
In Hebrew, red (adom) is connected to the earth (adamah) to which we as humans (b’nei adam) are inextricably rooted.
The color red is a symbol of many things in many traditions. RED symbolizes FIRE, BLOOD, DANGER, VIOLENCE, ANGER, ADVENTURE, STRENGTH, ENERGY, POWER, DESIRE, SEDUCTION, LOVE, PASSION, DETERMINATION, AND PASSIONATE LOVE. These are powerful words, each with a story attached for all of us I imagine.
For those of you who are still bleeding monthly, or whatever your cycle brings, this droplet is a subtle and beautiful way to celebrate your self. Every month we are given the gift of renewal through our bleeding. When it stops, as in pregnancy, we create, when it flows, we cleanse, awaiting creation in all forms. This necklace gives us a concrete way to honor the cycle of transformation that we are blessed to be a part of.
For those of you who have stopped bleeding, either through the transition of menopause or through the surgical removal of your uterus, the physical and psychic power of the womb never goes away. The womb is the healing place, the beginning of our creative force, whether bleeding or not, physically there or not, the wisdom held here remains and perhaps even increases. The droplet necklace can be a reminder of this power for us.
Our world needs healing. It is time that we foster creativity, love, wisdom, compassion, and begin to respect our sexuality as sacred. Women are the holders of these possibilities. I am blessed to have STRONG, CREATIVE, SENSUAL, ADVENTUROUS, PASSIONATE, WISE, TENDER, LOVING, KIND women in my life.”
Thank you, Vicki, for sharing your gift of language, beautifully articulating the depth of meaning behind this simple necklace. Your words make me feel a part of something bigger, and inspire me to continue creating positive imagery for the women of our world… because I truly believe that we are the force that is needed now… the power to save our world lies within the Sacred Feminine… and the Sacred Feminine lies within us.
