Birth is universal among women.  It is our international language. Birth connects us all to each other, to our ancestors who experienced this rite of passage generations ago, and it connects us to the Earth, Mother of all life. I am reminded of this connectivity every time we ship our artwork overseas. I am absolutely humbled by the idea that women from all over this earth find beauty and inspiration in our art. I love thinking that somewhere on the other side of this earth, a woman is using the positive imagery of our birth jewelry to enrich her experience of pregnancy, labor, and childbirth… focusing on a symbol of power and femininity to conjure her inner Goddess!

To date, we have shipped our glass birth art to Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Sweden, Netherlands, Germany, France, Russia, New Zealand, Italy, Brazil, Israel, Spain, Norway, Mexico, Belgium, Ireland, Japan, Finland, Switzerland, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Korea, Latvia, and every state in the US!

Whether it be our Birth Belly design, which started it all… to our Birth Partner pendants, the Crowning Glory design, our Waterbirth jewelry, Breastfeeding or Babywearing pendants, or any of our many handblown glass designs, I just love hearing birth stories from women who have found a source of strength and community in our artwork. Each one hand crafted individually in the Family Tree Glass studio by my husband and I… each one forged in fire with careful attention to detail… each one as unique as the woman who will cherish it, yet each one connected by the common thread of childbirth, motherhood, sisterhood.

I like to imagine each piece of art we create as a seed that will be planted in whatever part of the world it is being shipped to… a seed containing the ancient wisdom of the Sacred Feminine… a seed that will flower in the energy of the woman it was created for when worn, and which will continue to spread seedlings of connectivity each time it is seen by a fellow sister. I love get messages from women saying how they met a new friend or a kindred spirit simply by wearing their Family Tree Glass pendant.

This little mom & pop business that was born shortly after the birth of our own children… it is much bigger than us. This Family Tree has roots that are grounded in ancient wisdom, and branches that reach across continents. Whether we live on the same street, or in different hemispheres, you are all my sisters and I love you.
